As confirmed to ABC News by a senior intelligence official, the bomb blast that killed 14 and injured more than 40, in St Petersburg, was carried out by Kyrgyz-born Russian citizen.
A senior Kyrgyz intelligence official Rahat Sulaimanov said that the attacker will be in his early 20s and his name as Akbarjon Djalilov. Sulimanov said, that all the information concerning Akbarjon will only be released by Moscow as he is a Russian citizen only.
He added'
"Even though the suspect lived in Russia in recent years, he probably still has plenty of relatives in Osh,"
Sergei Lavrov the Russian foreign minister on the St Petersburg bombing said their is need for joint efforts against global terrorism.
"This tragedy in St. Petersburg once again shows the importance of stepping up joint efforts to combat this evil,"
Meanwhile the death toll has been revised up to 14 from 11 yesterday and 49 people still injured and receiving treatment, according to the Russia's health minister.
