HE DIDN'T TELL ME HE HAD THREE OTHER WIVES..woman tells court
In the words of 42 year old business woman Funmilayo Otegbola ''My husband deceived me; he did not tell me that he had three wives before marrying me, ”
The woman told an Igando Customary Court in Lagos on Friday that her husband impregnated her and hastened her into his house.
“When I became pregnant for my husband, I moved into his house although we are not legally married. “I discovered that he already had three wives living with him, there was nothing I could do since I was pregnant, I had to stay,” she said while responding to a divorce suit filed by her husband, Rufus Otegbola, for 13 years. Funmilayo said the man had turned her into a punching bag.
“My husband beats me all time and even when I was pregnant, he beat hell out of me; I fell into labour immediately, forcing the delivery of the baby. “As a result of frequent beating, on May 9, 2016, I packed my belongings from his house and moved to my parent’s house,” she said, described Rufus as an ungrateful person. She continued: “When he lost his job, I was the one feeding him with his wives and their children and I was also paying the school fees of our children and my step children.” The mother of four, however, consented to the dissolution of the marriage, saying “I am also fed up with the union.”
The petitioner, Otegbola, had approached the court, seeking to end the marriage over wife’s fetish practices. In the words of Rufus;
“My wife is diabolical and fetish, she always comes home with charms (juju)and I feared she may kill me one day if I do not end the marriage.” The 47-year-old businessman said that his wife packed out of their matrimonial home without his consent.
“My parent-in-law and my wife’s siblings came to my house to pack my wife’s property without my permission,”he said. The petitioner, who claimed to be the fifth husband of the wife, described her a “serial divorcee” as she had married and divorced four husbands before he married her.
“My wife is adulterous; I am the fifth man that married her.” He urged the court to terminate the marriage that he was no longer in love with her.
The President of the court, Mr Adegboyega Omilola, after listening to the couple, adjourned the case until May 9 for further hearing.

AMENDMENT OF ELECTORAL ACT, SENATE okays e-voting for 2019
The 2010 Electoral Act was yesterday amended, In the new amendment, it approved the use of electronic voting in subsequent elections, especially during the conduct of the 2019 general elections.
Similarly, it okayed that election results should be transmitted electronically to collation centres
The passage of the amendment followed the consideration of the report of the Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on a Bill for an Act to amend the Electoral Act No. 6, 2010 and for other related matters (SB 231 and SB 234).
The provision made in the new bill was for the use of electronic voting by INEC during future elections in the country and the use of Card Reader. It also gave INEC power to modify the voting process if there was a challenge.
The Senate approved a provision to enable INEC transmit the result of elections electronically in an encrypted and secured manner to prevent hacking.
For the avoidance of the occurrence of what happened in Kogi State during the last gubernatorial election, the amended Electoral made a provision that the results would not only remain valid but would belong to the political party that lost its candidate, in case the person dies before the election results are announced
The new amendment prescribed that in such a scenario, the INEC should suspend the elections for 21 days during which period the affected political party would conduct fresh primaries to choose a new candidate.
The Bill also gives political parties power to adopt direct or indirect primaries in choosing their flag bearers, while qualification or disqualification of candidates for elections would be solely based on the Constitution.
The final passage of the bill is coming after it was earlier stepped down four times due to disagreement in some grey areas.
President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, in his comments after the adoption of the report hailed his colleagues for a job well done and expressed optimism that the bill, when signed into law, would further improve the nation’s electoral system and contribute to good governance.
Saraki said:
“Distinguished colleagues, let me thank all of you for this job well done. I want to particularly thank the members of the Committee on INEC and particularly the former chairman of the Committee, Abubakar Kyari, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and all the members of the committee who have worked very hard to ensure the passage of this very important bill which addresses our electoral process and goes on to strengthen our democracy.
“We have touched on new areas which I believe will improve the credibility of our elections and by so doing, definitely improve our democracy and good governance.
“Most importantly, I think, are some of the new sections we have added, in the area of technology, the smart card reader, and particularly the area of collation which has been an area of great concern.
“Collation of results after the polling units and some of the additions will go a long way to reduce some of the irregularities we have seen before.
“This is a great work you have been able to put together today and I want to commend everybody. I am also happy that we have passed the amendments very early. My concern has always been that if we don’t do it now, it will get more difficult as we get close to the 2019 elections.
“We hope that with this Bill that we have passed, very soon, we will sit together with the House of Representatives to be able to get the copy to the President for assent.
“I think when signed into law, it will enable INEC to have something to work early enough. I think what we have done today will really put our electoral law among the best that we have and it will go a long way in improving our electoral process.”
The Senate is expected to transmit the bill to the House of Representatives for concurrence before final transmission to the President for assent.

18 year old Aleexandra khefren finally sells her virginty to a hong kong business man
The 18 year old Romanian teenager Aleexandra khefren claims she has sold her virginty to a Hong Kong businessman for £2million.
Despite her families threat to disown her over the deal, 18-year-old Aleexandra Khefren went online last year to advertise the sale of her virginity , according to Daily Mail.
Khefren, an aspiring model from Bucharest, said that she has booked a hotel and is in contact with the businessman, who she was connected with through Cinderella Escorts, a website based in Germany that will take 20 per cent of the £2million. In her words,
"I wanted to sell my virginity with Cinderella Escorts rather than giving it to a future friend who might have left me anyway," she told The Star.
"And I think many other girls have the same attitude."
"How many would possibly forgo their first time in retrospect if they could have 2.3 million euros (£2m) instead 'We will go to a hotel in Germany, have dinner and then it will happen,’ she said last year. ‘I am very curious about how sex is. I have not experimented. I don’t know what is it.’
Khefren said that the businessman is "very friendly" and that though she's spoken to him, when she meets him in person for the first time, she will be accompanied by Cinderella Escorts staff.
Last year, Khefren’s father Toni and mum Elena begged her not to go through with the sale of her virginity.
Khefren claimed last year that she was selling herself to raise money for her family who faced eviction from their home.
She also said the money would be used to fund a college place, with Oxford University a favoured choice

TAKE HOME FROM THE COCA-COLA SAGA....
Referring to the findings by United Kingdom health authorities which were also corroborated by other agencies in European Union countries, the products contain excessive levels of
sunset yellow and benzoic acid, which are known to be carcinogenic (cancer Agents).
sunset yellow and benzoic acid, which are known to be carcinogenic (cancer Agents).
Its still confusing the judgement given the court in which they ordered NAFDAC to compel the Nigeria bottling company NBC makers of coke to inscribe on every bottle of Fanta and sprite that the products becomes poisonous when consumed with vitamin C
Is the inscription going to make it less harmful, these products should be declared unfit for human consumption just like it was declared in the United Kingdom.
The Nigerian bottling Company should be mandated to cease production and review their standard for the production of these drinks.
Even NAFDAC believes Nigerians are unfit for international standard. This is very sad.
Why must we always settle for mediocrity in this country?
Whats your take on this?
TWITTER SHUTS DOWN THOUSANDS OF ACCOUNTS PROMOTING TERRORISM AROUND THE GLOBE
Twitter a company based in san-francisco has accelerated their efforts to counter the promotion of terrorism around the Globe by suspending a huge number of accounts on its platform.
In its latest transparency report, the company announced 376,890 accounts were shut down in the last six months of 2016 and 636,248 accounts have been suspended since the middle of 2015.
The company took these steps following heavy pressure on social networks from governments around the world to use technology tools to lock out individuals promoting religious violence and launching attacks.
Another section of the report wanted social networks to be devoted to removing contents from verified journalists and other media outlets around the world. A total of 88 legal requests were received but did not take any action on the majority with limited exceptions in Germany and Turkey.
For example, we were compelled to withhold tweets sharing graphic imagery following terror attacks in Turkey in response to a court order,” Twitter said.
The social network also announced that the FBI had informed the company it was no longer under a gag order that prevented the disclosure of five cases involving national security letters from the US law enforcement agency in national security cases.
As we continue to push for more transparency in how we can speak about national security requests, we will update this new section in future transparency reports,” Twitter said.
Also, the number of government requests for user data rose 7 percent from the prior six-month period.
Twitter, which is pressured by certain governments to remove hate speech also disclosed for the first time a partnership with a third-party research group called Lumen to catalog any information removed.
Twitter said it began the agreement with Lumen in 2010.
“Unless we are prevented from doing so, when we withhold content in a certain country, Twitter will continue to provide a copy of the request to Lumen so anyone can see what type of content was removed and who made the request,” the company said

Int’l friendlies : Rohr seeks new venue for Eagles
Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr has made it known to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to look elsewhere outside London for the team’s upcoming international friendlies.
Rohr was not happy after the game against Burkina Faso scheduled for Monday in London was cancelled because of visa issues. It was gathered that the German said he would advise the NFF against the choice of London as venue for Eagles friendly games because of the strict nature of visa requirements by the United Kingdom embassies.
In place of the cancelled Burkina Faso tie, Rohr had to convert the time for the game to a training game among the players with more players of Nigerian descend plying their trade in England involved at The Hive stadium, home of English League Two club, Barnet.
The manager, when asked after the training game if Nigeria could stay away from friendlies in the U.K. in future, said: “Yes, yes, because it’s too complicated to get the visas, you know.
“I think it’s better to stay in Schengen, in Europe than go to London where the people have problems. Even some players in our team couldn’t come, you know. They didn’t get the visa in time.”
Rohr pointed out the positive aspects of Nigeria’s short trip to London, noting that the training exercise had given some members of the team an opportunity to play.
“We tried to find another team but it was too late,” the German said.
“We had one very good game against a Senegal team [that was] so strong, so powerful, we learned a lot. Now we look forward to our next games.
“The second game, between us, I could see everybody,” Rohr added. “Some players need to play because they don’t play all the time at their clubs. It was an opportunity for them
